Morgan County Health Order - Message from Mayor Silvey

Both the President and Missouri Governor have declared a national and state emergency on March 13, 2020 to attempt to prevent a substantial risk to public health and safety due to the pandemic of the Covid-19 virus.  Attached is a Health Order issued today on March 20, 2020 from the Morgan County Health Center Administrator Shawn Brantley that applies to Morgan County and the City of Versailles.  As stated it applies to recreational facilities, conferences, events and banquet facilities, wedding venues, gyms, bars and restaurants, and any other public facility or event will limit their patrons to 10 or less effective 11:59 pm tonight.  The Mayor and City Council understands the hardship, the difficulties, the sacrifices, the concerns and unknown many of you have presently.
As Mayor and the Emergency Management Director for the City, I’m asking all those effected by this Order to voluntarily comply for the community, your customers, your staff’s health and well being.  Make no mistake about this, this is a
national emergency.  We all will need to do our part, make those difficult sacrifices ,
do whatever we can to protect ourselves, families, friends and neighbors.  It will require all of us working together to control the spread of this awful virus.
The decisions we make today and the next several weeks could make a huge difference in the months ahead and controlling this virus.
I encourage you to read the Order in full.

Sincerely,
Mayor Terry Silvey
